Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a medium bowl, beat together softened butter and sugars for 3-4 minutes, or until fluffy.
Add vanilla and mix until well combined.
In a separate small bowl, whisk together and salt.
Add flour mixture to butter mixture and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
Roll dough into walnut-sized balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Flatten each ball slightly with a glass so they're about two inches in diameter.
Bake 10-12 minutes or until the edges are just golden.
