Southern Pecan Sandies Recipe: An Easy, Old-Fashioned Shortbread Cookie

Everyone loves these rich, buttery shortbread cookies packed with pecans. This Pecan Sandies Recipe is easy to make, but easier to devour!

Pecan Sandies Recipe

Ingredients for Pecan Sandies Recipe

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cups chopped pecans, such as Great Value Chopped Pecans

How to Make Pecan Sandies

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat together softened butter and sugars for 3-4 minutes, or until fluffy.
  3. Add vanilla and mix until well combined.
  4. In a separate small bowl, whisk together and salt.
  5. Add flour mixture to butter mixture and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Roll dough into walnut-sized balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Flatten each ball slightly with a glass so they’re about two inches in diameter.
  8. Bake 10-12 minutes or until the edges are just golden.
  9. Enjoy!

    Oh my gosh..I love pecan sandies! I made some scones the other day and added chopped pecans..so good! They tasted like a pecan sandie married a biscuit! 🙂
