- In a medium saucepan, combine milk, water, butter, cocoa, maple syrup, and salt. Heat over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until it's steamy but not quite boiling.
- Reduce to medium heat and whisk in Cream of Wheat.
- Cook, whisking constantly, for 2-3 minutes or until thickened to your taste.
- Pour into a bowl and add toppings, if desired.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
