Ingredients for Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 onion, diced finely
- 1 small bell pepper, diced finely
- 8 ounces white mushrooms, diced finely
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoons cornstarch
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 8 ounces shredded cheese, such as Monterey Jack or Provolone
- 6-8 hamburger buns
Directions for Making Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms and cook until tender, 4-5 minutes.
- Add the ground beef and cook until no longer pink; drain off excess grease and return the mixture to the skillet.
- In a small bowl, whisk together beef broth, ketchup, and cornstarch.
- Mix the broth into the beef mixture and cook over medium-high heat 4-5 minutes, until the mixture has thickened.
- To serve, spoon a generous portion of the beef mixture onto a hamburger bun and top with shredded cheese.

These look so delicious Laura! I cannot wait to try them. We love philly cheesesteaks but I just got our portion of the cow we bought and have a TON of ground beef.
