This cheesy chicken macaroni casserole recipe comes together so quickly with few ingredients. It’s also a great way to use leftover chicken!
Ingredients for Cheesy Chicken Macaroni Casserole
- 1 1/2 cups macaroni (uncooked for measuring, but it will be cooked for the recipe)
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 2 cans condensed cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken, celery, or whatever you have on hand)
- 2 cups cubed cooked chicken
- 1 cup shredded cheese, plus 1/4 cup for topping (topping optional) – Velveeta Shreds are great in this recipe
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease a casserole dish 2 1/2- to 3- quart casserole dish.
- Cook the macaroni according to package directions, reducing the cook time by 1-2 minutes since it will finish cooking in the oven. Drain well.
- In a medium bowl, combine the milk, condensed soups, pepper, cheese, and cooked cubed chicken.
- Add the macaroni to the soup mixture and pour into the greased casserole dish.
- Top with additional cheese, if desired, and bake for 30-35 minutes or until bubbly.
- Enjoy!

Directions for Making It Ahead
- Combine all ingredients and pour into greased casserole dish.
- Top with additional cheese, if desired.
- Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight – or at least 8 hours – prior to baking.
- When you’re ready, uncover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until bubbly and heated through.
